Die Skulptur besteht aus recyceltem Kunststoff, der direkt aus dem Fluss geborgen wurde, mit dem Ziel, das Umweltbewusstsein zu st\u00e4rken.<\/p>\n<p>Das Projekt wurde vom Stadtrat von Dublin in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Irish Nautical Trust in Auftrag gegeben. Der Kunststoff wurde \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von acht Monaten vom Boot Liffey Sweeper gesammelt und anschlie\u00dfend vom auf Polymertechnik spezialisierten Unternehmen Paltech in buntes Polymermaterial umgewandelt. Am Projekt beteiligt waren auch das Unternehmen Billings Jackson, das sich mit der Gestaltung urbaner \u00f6ffentlicher R\u00e4ume und Infrastrukturen besch\u00e4ftigt, sowie das irische Ingenieur- und Fertigungsunternehmen SteelSmith.<\/p>\n<p>Byrne fand die Inspiration f\u00fcr das Kunstwerk w\u00e4hrend der COVID-19-Pandemie, als sie mit dem Segeln im Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club begann. In dieser Zeit lernte sie die Arbeit des Liffey Sweeper kennen \u2013 ein von Jimmy Murray vom Irish Nautical Trust gestartetes Projekt.
